Privacy & cookies

Updated 14 October 2026

This portfolio is operated by Victor Escariz, based in Madrid, Spain. For questions about your personal data or to exercise your rights, contact hello@victorescariz.com.

Visiting this site

The hosting infrastructure processes technical request data to deliver and secure the site. This includes network information such as an IP address. Fonts and portfolio images are served with the site. There are no advertising pixels or session recordings configured by this portfolio.

Optional analytics

If you choose “Allow analytics”, Umami Cloud measures page views, referral sources, campaign tags (UTMs), approximate location, device/browser information and clicks on selected links and buttons. This helps me understand how people find the site and which content is useful. The legal basis for this optional measurement is your consent.

The tracker is not loaded before you allow it. Declining does not prevent you from reading the portfolio or contacting me. You can change your choice at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer. Withdrawal stops future measurement on this site; it does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control preferences keep analytics off.

Umami’s standard analytics does not use tracking cookies. Its documentation explains that request information is processed to derive visit statistics. This site does not send your name, email, phone number, message content or booking identifier as analytics event properties. Only campaign parameters in a restricted format are retained from the page query string.

Analytics is configured in Umami Cloud’s EU region. Retention depends on the active Cloud plan; the current Hobby plan provides six months of analytics history. See Umami’s privacy information and data processing terms.

Remembering your choice

This site uses a local storage entry, victor-privacy-v1, to remember your analytics choice and its date of expiry for up to 180 days. It contains no name or contact details. It is used only to respect your preference. Clearing your browser storage removes it. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current page only.

The optional “Reduce motion” setting is stored as victor-reduce-motion on your device until you change it or clear browser storage. It contains only your animation preference and is not sent as an analytics event.

Scheduling a conversation

Choosing “Book a call” first opens a local scheduling window. Cal.com connects only after you choose “Load available times”, or open its direct booking link. Cal.com receives the technical information needed to provide that service and the details you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, time zone and booking notes.

I use these details to arrange and conduct the conversation you requested and, where relevant, take steps towards a professional engagement. These details are not sent to Umami. Cal.com provides its own service technologies and may use essential storage. Review Cal.com’s privacy policy before submitting your booking.

Contacting me

Email, WhatsApp and LinkedIn links are optional ways to contact me. Following those links opens your chosen service; their own privacy terms apply. My email is provided through Hostinger. I use the information you share to respond to your enquiry and discuss the work you request, on the basis of pre-contractual steps where applicable, or my legitimate interest in answering professional correspondence. Contacting me does not subscribe you to a mailing list.

Correspondence and scheduling details are kept for the time needed to handle your request and relevant follow-up. If we work together, necessary records may be retained for the engagement and applicable legal obligations. You may ask about or request deletion of your information using the email above; some records may need to be retained by law.

Service providers and transfers

Hosting, Umami, Cal.com and email providers process the information needed for their respective services. Some providers or subprocessors operate outside the European Economic Area. Their processing terms describe applicable safeguards, including contractual arrangements where required. Selecting an EU analytics region does not by itself mean every provider processes all data exclusively in the EU.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to relevant processing, and withdraw consent. Contact the email above so I can handle your request and verify it where necessary. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or your competent supervisory authority. If Brazilian data protection law applies to your interaction, its applicable rights are also respected.
